The Dickinson Adult Learning Center is administered by Dickinson Public Schools and funded by Federal and State grants. DIVERT provides an alternative to Juvenile Court involvement for youths through a short-term family-based casework model, bringing together the family's strengths and community's resources to increase support services and strengthen the family unit. There is no application process. DVRCC provides advocacy, crisis counseling, information and referral, assistance with obtaining protection orders, support groups, a 24 hour toll-free crisis line and public education. These services are for victims of domestic and sexual violence and their families and friends. DVRCC also house families homeless for any reason. Walk-ins are welcome. All services, including shelter are free of charge. Staff maintains absolute confidentiality.
